Appointment Policies

We require an appointment for your child to be seen.

Same-Day Sick Visits

If your child’s illness or injury is life-threatening, call 911.

If your child is sick and needs to come in, please call our office as early as you can so that we can schedule a same-day appointment, if needed.

If you are not sure whether you need to be seen in the office, contact us to speak with a nurse who can help determine if you need to come in for an appointment.

Well Care Visits

Well care visits are a vital part of your child’s health care, and are scheduled at regular intervals from birth through age 21.

Well care and sick care visits should be scheduled separately. When calling for an appointment, please tell our receptionist the primary reason for the visit as well as any other concerns you may have, so that we can determine how best to schedule you.

After-Hours Care

For urgent matters that cannot wait until business  hours, contact our partners, Hello Pediatrics, when our offices are closed to avoid an unnecessary visit to the ER and/or Urgent Care.

We do not schedule/cancel appointments or prescribe medications after hours.

Canceled/Missed Appointments

You must cancel an appointment for an office visit at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. If you do not cancel or miss the appointment, a $50 missed appointment fee will be added to your account.

Vaccine Policy

At Ideal Pediatric and Adolescent Care, we believe that all children should receive the recommended vaccines according to the guidelines provided by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the CDC. Vaccines are safe and effective in preventing disease and health complications in children and young adults.

Vaccine Refusal

Ideal Pediatric does not discriminate against families who choose to not vaccinate their children, BUT we require a commitment to all well child appointments and developmental screenings according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. Vaccines will be offered and discussed at these appointments and if parents still choose to not vaccinate they must sign the standard AAP vaccine refusal form without any modifications.

Modified Vaccine Schedules

We do NOT offer a modified vaccine schedule and all vaccines must be given according to the guidelines provided by the AAP and CDC, meaning we do not offer nurse visits to split vaccine and all vaccines are given on time at the well child visit according recommended schedule. If parents desire a split or alternative vaccine schedule then our practice is likely not a good fit for your family.

COVID-19 Safety & Resources

Our goal during the COVID-19 pandemic is to continue to provide outstanding health care to our families, while simultaneously protecting our patients and our staff from COVID-19 disease transmission.

Safety Measures

Our office is safe and we are taking every precaution to keep your children healthy and safe while allowing access to care.

  • Parents call from the parking lot before entering the building.
  • Only one parent or caregiver is allowed in the office for the child’s appointment.
  • Parents and children are screened for symptoms and fever before they are allowed into the office.
  • Masks are required for all persons entering the office, including children age 2 years and older. Masks will remain on for the duration of your visit.
  • Sick visits are performed in designated exam rooms with separate exam rooms for well child care.

Testing

We offer on-site COVID PCR testing with results in as little as 30 minutes, allowing children to safely return to school or childcare.
